<p>A method for creating a paved area comprises a plurality of trays, each tray defining a compartment 18. A paving element such as a slab is layed in each tray and projects above the surface of the tray. Fill material may be used to screed the resulting voids and the trays may be rigid and contain drainage holes. The trays may be received on a frame 12. Also disclosed are a kit of parts in which the frame elements of a grid structure for supporting trays can be movable or extendable, in order to define voids of different sizes. The trays may be seated on an upper surface of the frame, or as disclosed in a separate claim for an apparatus, may be suspended on hangers. The top of the suspended tray can be arranged below the top of the frame.</p> |
