PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable valve mechanism which eliminates processing after assembly by providing an adjustment margin for adjusting two cams, and simplifies a manufacturing process to shorten lead time. SOLUTION: The variable valve mechanism 10 used for an internal combustion engine having a plurality of valves 11 and 12 disposed on an intake side or an exhaust side of one cylinder 14 includes: a first cam 31 opening and closing the first valve 11; and a second cam 32 opening and closing the second valve 12, of the plurality of valves. The first cam 31 and the second cam 32 relatively displace rotational phases each other, so that a period when a first valve opening period for opening the first valve 11 and a second valve opening period for opening the second valve 12 overlap is changed, and the valve opening whole period when at least either of the first valve 11 and the second valve 12 is opened is changed. By this change, the first valve opening period becomes more shorter than the second valve opening period such that the shortest valve opening whole period of the whole valve opening period becomes the same period as the second valve opening period.
