PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arrester capable of easily and surely securing an electrical connection to a high voltage pulling-down insulation wire and exerting a stable lightning protection performance for a long period. SOLUTION: The arrester 100 comprises: a terminal member 201 being disposed in the arrester body which houses a cylinder-type fuse having a pair of terminals, the terminal member 201 being formed with a conductive material and electrically connected to one terminal arranged at a power supply side among the pair of terminals; an insulation member 202 being formed with an insulating material and holding an end part of an electric wire 103 having a sheath 103b in such a state that insulation between the electric wire 103 and the terminal member 201 is secured; and a fastening screw 203 being formed with a conductive material, and screwed to the terminal member 201 in such a manner that the screw 203 penetrates the sheath 103b of the electric wire 103 held by the insulation member 202 so that the terminal member 201 and a core wire 103a of the electric wire 103 are electrically connected.
