<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screening method of a secondary metabolite by using a new culture method by which the new production ability of the secondary metabolite of a screening strain can be extracted, to provide a method for producing the secondary metabolite, and to provide the cultured product. <P>SOLUTION: The screening method of the secondary metabolite includes culturing microorganisms containing mycolic acid in a cell wall, and at least one test bacterium in combination, and confirming whether the secondary metabolite is contained in the culture liquid or not. The production method includes culturing at least one microorganism belonging to the microorganisms containing the mycolic acid in the cell walls, and at least one of actinomycetes and filamentous fungi in combination, and collecting the secondary metabolite produced in the culture liquid.
