摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the high-rate discharge capacity without compromising the float life performance of a lead acid battery.SOLUTION: In the cross section of a positive electrode plate 1 perpendicular to the electrode plate surface thereof, a positive electrode grid 2, a positive electrode active material 3 and holes are included. The holes include pores formed by evaporation of moisture from a positive electrode active material paste, and cavities 4 larger than the pores formed when filling the positive electrode grid 2 with the positive electrode active material 3. The area ratio of the sum of cross-sectional ares of the cavities 4 to the cross-sectional area of the positive electrode plate from which the cross-sectional area of the positive electrode grid 2 is subtracted is 1-11%.
