PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening weather strip having an attaching base part to be attached to the door opening edge part of an automobile vehicle body and a hollow seal part coming into elastic contact with the sash of a door when the door is closed and seal it, in which the sash is covered when the door is closed to improve the appearance.SOLUTION: The attaching base part 5 is constituted of a vehicle outside side-wall 5a, a vehicle inside side-wall 5c and a bottom wall 5b connecting both side-walls 5a, 5c to each other and is made to have a nearly U-shaped cross section, wherein a cover lip 32 is formed on the outer side of the bottom wall 5b to be extended long to cover the hollow seal part 8 in the extending direction of the bottom wall 5b. A glass run 13 mounted in the inner peripheral side of the sash 7 is provided with a claw 34 covering the sash 7 in the vehicle inside side-wall end. When the door is closed and the sash 7 is pressed to the hollow seal part 8, the cover lip tip is connected to the claw 34 to be in contact with the claw 34 to cover the sash 7. |
