PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and easily inspect a backflow preventing function without removing a water stop valve itself from a water supply pipeline and without using any tool. SOLUTION: A water stop valve with a backflow checking function includes: a body barrel 1 in which a stop valve chamber 1b communicating with an inflow entrance 1a, a check valve chamber 1d communicating with a water outlet 1c, and a water flow port 1e putting the stop valve chamber 1b and the check valve chamber 1d in a communication state are respectively formed; a ball 2 which is accommodated in the stop valve chamber 1b in a rotationally operable manner and in which a water passing hole 2a putting the inflow entrance 1a and the water flow port 1e in a communication state or a non-communication state is formed; a check valve 4 which is provided in the check valve chamber 1d, allows city water to flow from the water flow port 1e to the check valve chamber 1d, and prevents the city water from flowing from the check valve chamber 1d to the water flow port 1e; and a check valve checking device 6 which is provided in the body barrel 1, seals water on a primary side by rotating operation of the ball 2, and in this state, can discharge water reversely flowing from the check valve chamber 1d to the water flow port 1e to the outside when the check valve 4 does not normally function.
