A system for moving items on a rig floor, the system including a plurality of skids 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35 and a network of rails for guiding the plurality of skids, each skid of said plurality of skids for supporting an item, and each skid having rail engagement members for engaging at least one rail of said network of rails. The skids 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35 may include a propulsion unit possibly in the form of a cycling foot which grabs and releases the rails. The network may be arranged in a grid and where a computer and ID tags determine the position of the skids. Also claimed is a rig floor and a dog house 31 where the dog house 31 is moveable about the rig floor. |
