[Class 74 (ii)] Knitted fabric is formed with adjacent figured areas positioned selectively at any desired location coursewise of the fabric and having stitches of appreciably different length. The stitches at the borders of the areas are robbed or redistributed so that the areas blend one into another. Wrap or embroidery patterning may be provided, and the wrap loops may run from one area into another. Sinkers, pattern sinker jacks and patterning mechanism as described in Specification 344,486 may be provided, and sinker and sinker jack cams 27, 31 may be arranged as shown in the Figure. The sinker jack cam 31 may have a casting-off point 40 so disposed that the sinkers which are moved in by the jacks to draw longer loops are moved further in at the casting-off point. |
