The microcontroller acquires heart rate and hemodynamic parameter pairs of values (12) such as frequency, during a set of cardiac cycles. The microcontroller is arranged to calculate an index representative of a patient's clinical status. The hemodynamic parameter representative of myocardium contractility is a time interval separating endocardial acceleration peaks.
