<p>The invention refers to a remote radio device (31) and a baseband processing node (27) for a radio access network (15). In order to provide an improved distributed base station architecture that allows using both baseband processing resources as well as transmission resources of a backhaul network (29) efficiently, it is suggested that the remote radio device (31) comprise an uplink baseband signal forwarding arrangement (75) operable for forwarding an uplink digital baseband signal (SUL) to the baseband processing node (27); and a downlink baseband processor (47) operable for generating a digital downlink baseband signal (SDL) by processing downlink data (DDL) received from the baseband processing node.</p> |
