Method and device for wet treating articles of laundry

The method involves washing laundry in a rotationally driven cylindrical drum (20), and heating treatment liquid for washing the laundry. The treatment liquid is heated by steam. The steam is produced in an outer drum (28) enclosing a part of the rotationally driven drum. The steam is produced in a circular chamber (30) between the rotationally driven drum and the outer drum. The steam is produced by evaporating the heated treatment liquid in a lower area of the circular chamber. The treatment liquid is evaporated by a heating device in the circular chamber. An independent claim is also included for a device for wet treatment of laundry.
