The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for the prevention or treatment of an atopic dermatitis, comprising a white rose petal extract or a pyrogallol compound isolated therefrom as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, the white rose petal extract or the pyrogallol compound isolated therefrom has an excellent inhibitory effect against the gene expression of T cell-dependent cytokines such as IL-2, INF-gamma, IL-4 and IL-5. Ultimately, the white rose petal extract or the pyrogallol compound isolated therefrom effectively reduces an immune reaction caused by the overexpression of T cells, thereby being practically used for a pharmaceutical composition or an immunosuppressant capable of preventing or treating an atopic dermatitis.
