<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to easily grasp an arrival distance of flash light without unnecessary flash emission to a subject positioned beyond the arrival distance of the flash light, and effectively perform flash photography by utilizing the flash light according to the arrival distance. <P>SOLUTION: A camera processor 104 acquires an photographic image through an imaging element 101. The camera processor 104 determines per block into which a screen of the photographic image is two-dimensionally divided in the horizontal direction and the vertical direction whether the photographic image is within the arrival distance of the flash light by a strobe circuit 114 and a strobe light-emitting part 3 based on distance information by a distance measurement unit 5.
