PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a fuel cell in which loss of an added catalytic material for electrode can be reduced.SOLUTION: In a catalyst supporting process (3), pores in a catalytic species layer are closed, at first, by heating the catalytic species layer at a high temperature equal to or higher than the melting point of the base material of the catalytic species layer such as a porous metal (step 108). After heating, surface of a CNT is coated with a metal salt solution and a catalyst is supported (step 110). When the catalytic species layer is annealed at a temperature above the melting point before the metal salt solution is applied, pores in the catalytic species layer are closed and surface roughness of the catalytic species layer can be reduced. When the metal salt solution is applied under this state, the catalyst can be supported selectively on the surface of the CNT, and thereby the amount of unused catalyst can be reduced. |
