A wireless communication apparatus conducts wireless communication with an external apparatus. The wireless communication apparatus includes an image capture unit which captures an image of a subject, a memory which stores image data based on the captured image, an establishment unit which establishes wireless communication between the external apparatus and the body of the wireless communication apparatus, a communication unit which transmits the image data to the external apparatus by the wireless communication as established, a battery which supplies power to the image capture unit and the communication unit, a determination unit which detects remaining battery power of the battery to determine whether or not the detected remaining battery power falls below a predetermined value, and a control unit which disconnects the wireless communication established by the establishment unit, based on a determination that the remaining battery power falls below the predetermined value, to interrupt transmission of the image data conducted by the communication unit. |
