An image forming apparatus of the present invention includes: a developing section which includes a developer bearing member which bears toner to be supplied to an image bearing member on which an electrostatic latent image is formed; and a developer regulating section which regulates a layer thickness of the toner borne by the developer bearing member, the developer regulating section being electrically connected to the charger case, the developer regulating section being at least partially electroconductive.

1. An image forming apparatus comprising:
an image bearing member; a charging section which includes a charger case containing a discharge electrode and which is configured to charge a surface of the image bearing member by a voltage application to each of the discharge electrode and the charger case; an exposure section configured to form an electrostatic latent image by emitting light to the image bearing member thus charged; a developing section which includes a developer bearing member configured to bear toner to be supplied to the image bearing member on which the electrostatic latent image is formed; and a developer regulating section which is configured to regulate a layer thickness of the toner which is borne by the developer bearing member, the developer regulating section being attached to the charger case so as to be electrically connected to the charger case, the developer regulating section being at least partially electroconductive, the developer regulating section having an opening through which light emitted from the exposure section to the image bearing member passes.
