摘要 Guanidine or amino guanidine salts of sulphonated aliphatic dicarboxylic acids are prepared by reacting an alkali metal sulphonate of a dialkyl ester of an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid with guanidine or amino guanidine carbonate or bicarbonate. According to the proportions of reactants used, three salts are obtainable: guanidinium dialkyl-, bis-(guanidinium) mono-alkyl, or tris-(guanidinium)-sulpho dicarboxylate. The mono-guanidinium salts are readily soluble in water, alcohols, benzene, cyclohexanone, etc.; the bis-salts are more soluble in water and alcohols, but insoluble in the other solvents, whilst the tris-salts are only soluble in water. These compounds are wetting, dispersing, emulsifying and detergent agents. The mono- and bis-, and to a lesser extent, the tris-guanidinium salts are useful in producing soft finishes on textile materials; admixed with water-soluble urea-, thiourea- and melamine-formaldehyde condensates and applied to cellulosic textiles, they impart an improved soft resilient handle. In conjunction with formaldehyde, they impart wool-like dyeing properties to cellulosic textile material, the formaldehyde mixture or soluble condensate of the guanidinium salt being insolubilised in the fabric by heating to (say) 140 DEG C.; dyestuffs specified in this connection are acid wool, direct cotton, chrome, sulphur and vat (including solubilised vat dyestuffs, i.e. sulphuric ester salts of the leuco vat dyestuffs), aqueous dispersions of insoluble amino- and hydroxy-azo compounds and of insoluble amino- and acylamino-anthraquinones. Treatment of cellulosic textiles, dyed with direct cotton dyestuffs, with water-soluble condensates of the guanidinium salts and formaldehyde, followed by insolubisation improves the wash fastness of the dyeing. The mono- and bis-compounds also have good foaming properties. In examples: (1) the following salts are prepared: guanidinium dioctyl-, and dicetyl-sulpho succinates, and bis-(guanidinium) mono-butyl-, hexyl- and bis - (amino guanidinium) - octyl - sulpho succinates. (2) The treatment of all viscose satin fabric with an aqueous solution of bis-(guanidinium) octyl sulpho succinate results in fabric of a soft handle. (3) Viscose fabric is treated with a solution of guanidinium dicetyl sulpho dicarboxylate, a water-soluble urea-formaldehyde condensate, and ammonium sulphate, the fabric then being dried and heated at 140 DEG C. which renders it crease-resistant and of soft handle. (4) Viscose staple fibre treated with a solution of bis-(guanidinium) butyl sulpho succinate and formaldehyde, dried and heated at 140 DEG C., is dyed in a bath containing Solway blue BS and formic acid. (5) Viscose staple fibre is treated as in (4), but using the hexyl sulpho succinate and dyeing with Coomassie navy blue 2RNS, the dye solution also containing acetic acid and potassium dichromate. (6) All-viscose fabric is treated as in example (4), and dyed with Diphenyl fast red 7BL. (7) Viscose staple fibre is treated with the solution described in example (4) to which is added ammonium thiocyanate and after drying and heating, is dyed with a solution containing Eriochrome Azurol B (Geigy), potassium chromate and ammonium sulphate. (8) Viscose fibre treated as in example (7) is entered into a solution of Eriochrome black T and acetic acid, to which is added during dyeing, formic acid and then sodium dichromate. (9) Viscose fabric dyed with chlorazol fast red KS is treated with the solution described in example (4), and after drying and heating to 140 DEG C. has a soft handle and dye wash-fastness. (10) Viscose fabric dyed with Rigan sky blue 9 (Soc. Chem. Ind., Basle) is treated with a solution of the bis-(amino guanidinium) octyl sulpho succinate and formaldehyde dried and heated at 140 DEG C. (11) All viscose fabric dyed with Chlorantine fast blue 3GLL and treated with a solution of guanidinium dioctyl sulpho succinate, formaldehyde and ammonium sulphate is dried and heated; the fabric is soft, resilient and the dyeing is wash-fast. Other guanidinium salts mentioned are guanidinium dibutyl- and tris-(guanidinium)-sulpho succinates. Other dialkyl aliphatic sulpho dicarboxylates specified are the dialkyl esters of sulpho glutaric-, adipic-, pimelic-, suberic-, azelaic- and sebacic-acids.
