The present invention provides a separation method of heavy metals in soil comprising the steps of separating heavy metals in soil using magnetic materials; and reusing the separated magnetically separated particles (MSPs) for water purification. Also, the present invention provides a water purification method using the magnetically separated particles obtained using the same. According to the present invention, mineral particles containing heavy metals in soil can be separated from soil contaminated by heavy metals using magnetic materials and the separated MSPs can increase the efficiency of removing contaminants by adsorbing heavy metals in water. In addition, purified soil can be used for reinforcement in an eroded area or a depositional area and heavy metal by-products generated during soil remediation can be reused.
