<p>This describes a polymethylmethacrylate bone cement that is characterized in that it contains a hydrolytically-degradable X-ray opaquer with a Mohs hardness equal to or less than 3 and a water solubility at room temperature of less than 4 g per liter. The polymethylmethacrylate bone cement is used as temporary placeholder.</p>
