本发明提供一种曝光装置,其在发生停电等之异常情形时,亦能抑制液体流出至基板外侧。曝光装置EX,系在投影光学系统PL与基板P间之充满液体1,透过投影光学系统PL与液体1将图案像投影至基板P上来使基板P曝光。曝光装置EX,包含:具有以商用电源100所供应之电力来驱动之驱动部的液体回收机构20,60、与不同于商用电源100的不断电电源102,在商用电源100之停电时,对驱动部之电力供应即切换为以不断电电源102来进行。
