powers up a host controller in preparation for said processor to enter a sleep state; storing at least one setting in firmware for said processor; determining, based on the at least one setting, a maximum sleep state level at which power will be provided to said at least one peripheral device port; and selectively powers said at least one peripheral device port by said host controller when said processor is in a sleep state that is less than the maximum sleep state level.
