for the treatment of an HCV-related disease, including HCV chronic infection, is disclosed. Further disclosed is pharmaceutical composition (e.g., as a unit dosage form) comprising hydroxychloroquine and GNS-227.

A method of treating a hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in a subject in need thereof, the method comprising co-administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of hydroxychloroquine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in combination with a therapeutically effective amount of the compound GNS-227:thereby treating the HCV infection, wherein said therapeutically effective amount of hydroxychloroquine and said therapeutically effective amount of said GNS-227 are selected such that said hydroxychloroquine and said GNS-227 act in synergy in reducing HCV replication.
