The floating-disk type brake system includes a first floating disk assembly and a first disk assembly that are arranged between the ring gear and the planet carrier of a planetary gear built in a transmission or the like, and the first floating disk assembly and the first disk assembly are pressed together into frictional engagement to brake a rotating shaft.

A floating-disk type brake system comprising: a brake disk combined with a wheel of a transportation vehicle for rotation together with the wheel; a pressing member for pressing a brake pad against the brake disk; and a plurality of floating disk assemblies disposed adjoining to each other and coaxially with the brake disk between the brake disk and the brake pad so as to be rotatable relative to each other and to the brake disk, wherein each of the floating disk assemblies has opposite side surfaces, one of the opposite side surfaces facing the brake pad is a frictional sliding surface, and the other of the opposite side surfaces is provided with a friction member to be brought into frictional engagement with a matching member.
