PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an image reading apparatus using a three-line CCD and white LEDs to read a document with high definition and high quality.SOLUTION: The image reading apparatus comprises the three-line CCD, the white LEDs, and a light guide body for guiding light from the LEDs to a document. In the light guide body, a light emitting surface for emitting light toward the document is formed to be recessed. Accordingly an image reading area on a document platform glass is irradiated uniformly with the light from the light guide body. |
