PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent dye compound that is a novel compound having high processability, desirable optical characteristics and good optical stability, and a wavelength conversion type sealing material composition using the compound, and to provide a wavelength conversion type sealing material layer which is formed by using the above wavelength conversion type sealing material composition and has desirable optical characteristics and good optical stability, and a photovoltaic module using the sealing material layer.SOLUTION: The fluorescent dye compound is a benzothiadiazole derivative fluorescent dye compound expressed by general formula (I) shown below.
