<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and a charge elimination method capable of quickly eliminating, when power supply is stopped, the charge remaining in the apparatus, and continuing cooling the inside of the apparatus.SOLUTION: A compound machine 1 as an image forming apparatus includes a power source unit 11 that is connected with an external power source to generate DC voltages V1 to V3, a cooling fan 12 that is driven with the DC voltage V1 generated by the power source unit 11 as a power source, a detection switch SW1 that detects the insertion or non-insertion of a power source code CD, and control units (control circuit 14, and switch drive circuit 13) that, when the non-insertion of the power source code CD is detected, drives the cooling fan 12 and switches a main power source switch SW from the ON state to the OFF state.</p> |
