<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress lowering of throughput and an unnecessary increase in ink consumption due to periodic flashing when performing printing with a line head-type inkjet head.SOLUTION: A printer 1 comprises a line head-type inkjet head 11. The inkjet head 11 is positioned at a printing position A above a platen 4 and performs printing on a recording paper P to be carried by a carrying mechanism 6. The inkjet head 11 is moved to a maintenance position B above a maintenance mechanism 13 arranged beside the platen 4 to perform flashing for ejecting ink into a head cap 17. A control portion 20 of the printer, when performing printing, performs determination for performing periodic flashing at the timing for page break of printing data, and performs based on the determination result flashing at intervals equal to predetermined reference time T or less.</p> |
