PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-linear optical microscope device that enables a bright observation of a specimen up to a deep part thereof.SOLUTION: A two-photon excitation microscope device 100 comprises: an objective lens 1 that irradiates a specimen S with laser light; a beam diameter variable optical system 12 that changes a beam diameter of the laser light incident upon the objective lens 1; and a control part 30. The control part 30 determines a pupil sufficiency ratio serving as a ratio of the beam diameter of the laser light incident upon the objective lens to a pupil diameter of the objective lens 1 on the basis of an optical characteristic of the specimen S for each optical characteristic of the specimen S, and controls the beam diameter variable optical system 12 so that the pupil sufficiency ratio becomes a determined value. |
