PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent coloring on the periphery of a black character and a thin line, even if dot correction is performed during implementation of mechanical magnification.SOLUTION: An interline correction unit 104 corrects the reading position in the sub-scanning direction, by delaying the image data integer lines. When performing correction within ±1 dot that cannot be corrected by interline correction during implementation of mechanical magnification, for example, a dot correction unit 106 performs re-sampling by cubic function convolution, and performs position correction in a range of ±1 dot. A filtering section 105 performs smoothing filtering previously depending on the dot correction amount, and reduces coloring on the periphery of a black character or a thin line, by reducing the MTF characteristic difference between a color signal not subjected to dot correction, and a color signal subjected to dot correction. |
