PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dehydration and carbonization device and method capable of efficiently eliminating moisture of kitchen refuse.SOLUTION: One exemplary dehydration and carbonization device includes, within a dehydration chamber, a plurality of cylinders, a pair of horizontal pipes, vertical pipes, upper common discharge boxes, and lower common discharge boxes. In each of the plurality of cylinders, an inlet is provided in one end portion and an outlet is provided in another end portion. The plurality of cylinders are formed in one body by alternately communicating with the upper or lower end portions, disposed in a vertical direction so that an outward path and a return path thereof are arranged alternately up and down, and include a screw conveyer therein. The pair of horizontal pipes are connected at suitable intervals in a length direction of the plurality of cylinders and at both sides of the plurality of cylinders in an upper half portion. The vertical pipes are connected to tips of the pair of horizontal pipes, respectively, and provided in a vertical direction. The upper common discharge boxes are connected in common to the vertical pipes which are connected to the horizontal pipes connected to the upper cylinders. In the lower common discharge box, the vertical pipe connected to the horizontal pipe which is connected to the lower cylinder provided lower than the upper cylinders is connected in common with the vertical pipe connected to the horizontal pipe which is connected to the cylinder on the further lower stage. |
