PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method that reproduce an optical signal capable of squeezing amplitude noise of a multi-amplitude modulated signal.SOLUTION: A system includes: an input unit that receives a source amplitude modulated optical signal 202 having multiple input power modulation levels (210) each indicating information conveyed on the source amplitude modulated optical signal; a reproducer 206 that comprises an optical parametric amplifier which is communicatively communicated with the input unit and reproduces the source amplitude modulated optical signal in order to generate an output optical signal 208, and that includes a first stage for generating first stage output by applying a first saturation mode response to the source amplitude modulated optical signal, and a second stage that is communicatively cascade connected with the first stage and that comprises the optical parametric amplifier for generating second stage output by applying a second saturation response to the first stage output. The output optical signal includes multiple output power modulation levels including information equivalent to information on the input power modulation levels. |
