<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic sensor capable of performing fault diagnosis with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: The magnetic sensor has a first magnetic resistance element 14. The first magnetic resistance element 14 comprises: a first substrate 1; a first voltage application terminal 10, a first signal detection terminal 11, a first state detection terminal 12 and a first ground terminal 13; a first magnetic resistance pattern 2 between the first voltage application terminal 10 and the first signal detection terminal 11; a second magnetic resistance pattern 3 between the first signal detection terminal 11 and the first ground terminal 13; a third magnetic resistance pattern 4 having a main magnetic sensitive direction as a third direction 8, between the first voltage application terminal 10 and the first state detection terminal 12; and a fourth magnetic resistance pattern 5 having main magnetic sensitive direction as the same direction as the third direction 8, between the first state detection terminal 12 and the first ground terminal 13. The magnetic sensor detects a failure by monitoring the first state detection terminal 12.</p> |
