PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal device capable of restraining power consumption involved in search for a base station device.SOLUTION: A mobile terminal device 101 comprises: a determination unit 907 that determines whether switching from connection with a first radio communication system to connection with a second radio communication system is useful or not on the basis of a communication state with a first base station device included in the first radio communication system or the mobile state of the mobile terminal device itself; a transmission unit 911 that transmits a message inquiring a second base station device included in the second radio communication system to the first base station device if it is determined that the switching is useful, and omits transmission of the message if it is determined that the switching is not useful; and a search unit 915 that searches for the second base station device according to data when the data for searching for the second base station device is received from the first base station device.
