Disclosed is a method of removing a haze in a single image. According to the present invention, a transfer amount is estimated by using a dark channel prior obtained in a hazy input image. A block artifact is included in the estimated transfer amount as above. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a refined transfer amount is obtained by performing a weighted least square (WLS) filtering using the estimated transfer amount and a morphologically processed input image, in order to remove the block artifact while preserving edges. Then, an image is restored based on the refined transfer amount, and a multiscale tone manipulation image process is performed. |
