PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which allows a detachable authentication device to be easily stored.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 includes a top-face panel member 141 arranged on a side of the body of the apparatus facing an operator. The top-face panel member 141 has a recess 148 having a bottom surface 148b arranged under an upper surface of the top-face member 141. In the bottom surface of the recess 148, an authentication device 200 for reading information stored in an information recording medium can be arranged, and a detachable cover member 220 with a protrusion which forms a space for housing the authentication device 200 together with the recess 148 and protrudes upward is arranged. |
