PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus in which positional accuracy of a light source and an aperture with respect to a predetermined optical path and relative positional accuracy of the light source and the aperture are stably maintained and to provide an image forming apparatus using the image reading apparatus.SOLUTION: A reading unit 224 includes a housing body 62, an illumination unit 50, and a housing cover part 61. The illumination unit 50 includes a light source 50A irradiating a document sheet with light in a main scan direction and is fixed to the housing body 62. The housing cover part 61 forms at least a part of an aperture AP through which the light reflected by the document sheet passes and is fixed to the housing body 62. The illumination unit 50 and the housing cover part 61 are fixed to the housing body 62 in a pair of positioning parts arranged on one end side and the other end side in the main scan direction of the housing 62, respectively. |
