摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a flexural rigidity of a shaft member without receiving a limitation due to arrangement relation of peripheral components.SOLUTION: A propeller shaft 1 has a shaft member 2 in which a cylindrical pipe 24 having a board thickness "A" and a mating member 23 positioned at one end or both ends of the pipe are welded to each other by friction pressure-welding. An end 242 of the pipe, which is welded to the mating member, has an inner surface peripheral surface which is formed in a step difference shape or a tapered shape, whereby the thickness of a tip of the end 242 is formed as a thin wall part of "B". On the other hand, an end 233 of the mating member, which is welded to the pipe, has a tip of which the thickness is formed as a cylindrical projection of "C". Further, the shaft member satisfies a relationship of "A>C>B".</p>
