This steel for springs comprises, in % by mass, 0.35%-0.55% C, 1.60%-3.00% Si, 0.20%-1.00% Mn, 0.10%-1.50% Cr, 0.05%-0.30% Ni, and 0.05%-1.00% Cu, and comprises substantially no V, with the remainder being Fe and unavoidable impurities. As a result of this steel for springs, spring performance can be ensured even when the amount of added Ni is reduced and V is not added. |
