PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound absorption material excellent in heat resistance, fire retardancy, and water holding ability, and having high sound absorption performance.SOLUTION: A sound absorption material is made of a base material and a skin material laminated on each other. The base material consists of inorganic fibers having a density of 2.0 g/cmor more, and is a nonwoven cloth having a basis weight of 100 to 1500 g/m, and a bulk density of 0.01 to 0.1 g/cm. The skin material consists of heat resistance organic fibers having a fusing-point or thermal decomposition temperature of 300°C or more, a density of 1.5 g/cmor less, and an average fiber diameter of 0.1 to 5 μm, and is a nonwoven cloth having a basis weight of 10 to 100 g/m, a bulk density of 0.1 to 1.0 g/cm, and a dry thermal shrinkage at 200°C of 2% or less. |
