PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grip type body training apparatus which imparts various loads to a user.SOLUTION: A grip type body training apparatus 1 has: a first action part 10; a second action part 20; a control part 15; a detection part 25; and a brake part 30. The first action part 10 has: a first rotation part 11; and a first grip part 12 connected to the first rotation part 11 by a first connection part 13. The second action part 20 has: a second rotation part 21; the detection part 25 coupled with the second rotation part 21; and a second grip part 22 connected to the detection part 25 by a second connection part 23. The detection part 25 outputs a signal which varies according to operation time of the grip type body training apparatus 1, and movement of the second action part 20 with respect to the first action part 10. The control part 15 controls brake torque of the brake part 30 on the basis of the signal output by the detection part 25.
