PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens which is suitable for a video camera, an electronic still camera and the like using a solid state imaging device or the like, has a high variable power ratio and a wide angle of view, is compact, and achieves super-high image quality, and to provide an optical apparatus and a method for manufacturing the zoom lens.SOLUTION: The zoom lens includes, in order from the object side, a first lens group G1 having negative refractive power and a second lens group G2 having positive refractive power, and satisfies the following conditional expression (1): (1) 1.90<ft/Gf2<3.50, where ft is the focal distance of the zoom lens ZL at the telephoto end state, and Gf2 is the focal distance of the second lens group G2. |
