PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable device having improved operability of the portable device.SOLUTION: A display area 2a is provided on the front surface of a device case 4 of a portable device. A touch panel detects operation to the display area 2a by an operating finger. A touch sensor 90 is provided in the device case of the portable device, and detects a contact position where a holding finger holding the device case is in contact. An inclination sensor detects an angle of inclination of the device case with respect to a reference attitude. When detecting both change in the contact position and change in the angle of inclination using the touch sensor and the inclination sensor, a control unit moves a display screen in a parallel fashion so as to be away from the contact position of the device case and the holding finger 32, and displays the screen in the display area 2a.
