The invention relates to a device and method for controlling a surgical table (30) having at least three components (32–46), the position of which components can be modified with the assistance of operating elements (14–28). The surgical table (30) has at least two drive units (41), with the assistance of which the position of the first component (42) and the second component (44) can be modified relative to one another and relative to the third component (40). At least one first position of the first component (42) and of the second component (44) relative to one another and relative to the third component (40) is stored in a control unit (52) for controlling the drive units (41). Upon actuation of a first operating element (18), drive units (41) are controlled in such a manner that the components (32–46) are moved into the stored first position. In the control unit (52), at least one preset control parameter is stored, the control unit controlling (52) the drive units (41) to move the components (32–46) at least from a second position different from the stored first position into the stored first position, depending on said stored control parameter. |
