A vibration damping device (10) is provided with: a cylindrical first mounting member (11) connected to either a vibration generation section or a vibration receiving section; a second mounting member (12) connected to the other section; an elastic body (13) for connecting both the mounting members (11, 12); and a partition member (16) for dividing a liquid chamber (17), which is located within the first mounting member (11) and in which liquid (L) is sealed, into a primary liquid chamber (14) having a wall surface, a part of which comprises the elastic body (13), and into a secondary liquid chamber (15). The partition member (16) has formed therein a limiting passage (21) for connecting the primary liquid chamber (14) and the secondary liquid chamber (15). The partition member (16) is provided with a flow regulation chamber (22) for connecting the primary liquid chamber (14) or the secondary liquid chamber (15) and the limiting passage (21). The flow regulation chamber (22) converts the flow of the liquid (L), which flows into the flow regulation chamber (22), into a swirl flow according to the flowing speed of the liquid (L). |
