The invention relates to a method for producing a complex product, in particular a motor vehicle, wherein a component is constructed for the product. Data comprising a three-dimensional representation of the component is generated in a first data format for a first program and data comprising meta-information on the three-dimensional representation of the component is generated in an electronically searchable data format for a second program. Additionally, the data comprising the three-dimensional representation of the component in the first data format is embedded into the data in the second data format. A third program is provided for establishing communication between the first and the second program. |
