PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus forming images by using toner, and an image forming method in such an image forming apparatus, capable of controlling the influence of unevenness in charging while avoiding enlargement of a pattern image even when the unevenness in charging occurs due to the rotational vibration of a charging roller along with the unevenness in density occurring due to the rotational vibration of an image carrier and a developer carrier, so as to adjust the density of images.SOLUTION: Regarding a length L of an image the density of which is detected, a circumferential length Lo of an image carrier, a circumferential length Lc of a charging roller, and a circumferential length Ld of a developer carrier, at least a first condition is satisfied, of the first condition in which L is the least common multiple of Lc and one of Lo and Ld, and a second condition in which L is larger than the other of Lo and Ld. |
