An objective of the present invention is to prevent a complete shutdown of a storage device and continue using the storage device by reducing the data capacity which can be stored thereupon when a fault occurs with a portion of nonvolatile semiconductor memory in the storage device. A storage controller stores a usable capacity which is a capacity of a logical storage region which can be used by the storage controller for each of a plurality of storage devices, configures a first RAID using a first storage device group among the plurality of storage devices, and allocates one of a plurality of pages in the logical storage region in the first RAID to a virtual volume on the basis of a request from a host computer. Upon receiving first fault information which indicates a fault in a first storage device among the first storage device group, the storage controller reduces the usable capacity of the first storage device on the basis of the first fault information.
