PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pen-type input device and an electronic information board system for suppressing power consumption while suppressing costs by reducing the number of light sources, thereby extending the life of a battery in the pen-type input device which outputs an optical signal indicating the fact that an operation for placing or pressing the tip of a pen in contact with or against a display surface has been made.SOLUTION: The input device comprises: a pen-type body grasped by an operator; a movable part disposed inside a recess provided at one of ends of the body at least and displaced in the axial direction of the body upon contact with a touch panel; signal generation means for generating, along with the displacement of the movable part, an operation-in-progress signal indicating that an operation is under way; light-emitting means 140 for outputting, as an optical signal, an operation detection signal generated by the signal generation means; and light guide means 150, provided continuously to the light-emitting means 140, for guiding the optical signal outputted from the light-emitting means 140 in a discretionary direction. |
