PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten processing time of a host apparatus executing communication with a portable information processing apparatus.SOLUTION: The portable information processing apparatus is configured so as to: change random number mode information indicating which is to be adopted, an intrinsic random number mode or a pseudo-random number mode for generating a pseudo-random number allowed to be defined by a host apparatus, as a random number mode for generating a random number to be used for the host apparatus corresponding to the portable information processing apparatus; and generate an intrinsic random number when the random number mode information indicates the intrinsic random number mode and generate a pseudo-random number correspondingly to the pseudo-random number mode when determining that the random number mode information indicates the pseudo-random number mode, in accordance with a random number generation instruction received from the host apparatus. |
